Kopipresso debuted on Japanese crowdfunding platform Makuake with its flagship Brewer Mug product, with ambitions to serve the Japanese market on the long-term. The campaign is in partnership with Life Grace Co. Ltd, who will be the local distributor for Kopipresso in Japan. The Makuake campaign commenced on 16th January 2021 and is set to run till the 27th of February 2021.
The Brewer Mug has passed the necessary Japanese food certification requirements and has been deemed a great fit for the Japanese consumer by the local distributor. The product had been tested by local baristas, with the quality of brew meet the palate of the Japanese coffee consumer. On the opening of the campaign, backers snapped up over 50 units within 2 hours leading to sales of Yen 1 million within 24 hours.
